The Design Story

garden

Garden
This Manchaha rug is a heartfelt creation by Anita, a nature lover whose connection with the earth is as deep as her art. If given the chance, she would spend her entire day amidst trees and plants. Her love for nature began in childhood when she lived in Lakhimpur, a small town where she would visit the park daily with her parents. After her marriage, she moved to a beautiful village between hills, where her bond with nature grew even stronger. At home, Anita has planted beautiful, fragrant plants and tends to them with care. Her house is surrounded by open skies and lush green land, a perfect canvas for her imagination. In her rug, she brings this vision to life. The design begins with small saplings, shielded by a mesh-like pattern, much like how she protects her plants from goats and cows in her garden. As the rug progresses, Anita's dreams unfurl. She imagines a life where nature protects her plants, free from the need for fences. Her designs become more fluid, depicting a serene landscape of mountains and flowing patterns. At the top right of the rug, Anita meticulously wove countless tiny colorful dots. These weren't ordinary threads but binding scraps from yarn bundles. Where others saw waste, Anita saw potential, transforming them into shimmering details. This shows that Anita is a true artist.  At the heart of her creation lies her cherished dream of a cozy home on a hilltop, surrounded by the embrace of nature. This dream has become a part of her daily life. Anita shares that every time she lights the stove in her kitchen with a matchstick, she is reminded of the little hut printed on the matchbox packaging. Inspired by this, she wove the same house into the rug, a manifestation of her dream, complete with a tiny bench where she imagines herself sitting. Anita connects with her surroundings and also invites others to share in her vision of a harmonious life, filled with love and gratitude for nature.
