The Design Story
saap ka gharSaap ka GharThis is a story about snakes and humans, specifically talented weavers who turn everyday encounters into art. When a snake appeared in their home, instead of being scared, they saw it as an opportunity. They decided to weave the snake into the carpet. Their creativity knew no limits. They named this special rug "Saap ka Ghar" (House of Snakes), a name that perfectly fits the story behind it. Mulchand, Babulal, and Koyali, the skilled weavers, began their work in summer and continued through the rainy season. They crafted wavy designs called "Lehereiya," onto the carpet. Inspired by another design they had seen, Babulal suggested adding leaves around the waves. The trio chose a simple approach, cleverly blending the snakes into the intricate patterns. Their artistry shines in this rug, which tells a tale and also showcases their talent and dedication to their craft.
