Rug-specific Care

Care by Rug Type

Hand-knotted Rugs

Avoid direct and continuous exposure to sunlight as it will result in color fading. Rotating your rug every few months will help avoid uneven wear and tear and extend its life. If there are loose yarns, snip them with a scissor instead of pulling them out. Use rug protectors under the legs of heavy furniture to avoid flattening piles. Expect shedding in the first 3 to 6 months. It will decrease over time. Never fold the rug. Store your rug by rolling its front side out and wrapping it in a cloth for protection. Get your rug cleaned by a professional at least once every 2 - 3 years. Clean spills immediately by blotting them with a clean absorbent cloth to keep a stain from setting in. Ensure all cleaning products are removed and the rug is dry. You can also explore our stain-resistant coating for better protection. Vacuum regularly and in different directions, on a low-power setting and without a beater brush as it may cause damage

Flatweave Rugs
