‘Sapna’ which means dream, is how Kanchan came around to weaving her Manchaha. She says, “The designs I have made are not my inspirations but what I used to sit and think about throughout the night.” She was so engrossed in her thoughts that they even started creeping into her dreams. Pink and blue, the colours of dreams are the main colours throughout this rug, and even the simple patterns she’s woven in are mesmerizing at a glance. Compared to an artist’s inspiration, her expression is unique where it shows a practice similar to a philosopher.
