When art meets a true designer, this is what we get! The rug aas paas or ‘around’ is a take on the beautiful motifs and patterns that surround our weaver Manju in her village. She firmly says that the designs she weaved were inspired from the rustic patterns that shows on chulha.

The inspiration behind this Manchaha is Manju’s visit to Mumbai with Jaipur Rugs. While she was there she got to see a beautiful garden, and tried to bring that garden back to life in her rug, not just in look but in feel. There are so many little flowers, grass, bushes and creepers that she put together and even mixed wool with bamboo silk in an attempt to replicate the textures and how each plant had tonal variations with the light. Named after the hindi word for garden, Bageecha brings to the home a blossoming garden, connecting the home to nature.
