The Design Story
gallecho ka minarGallecho ka MinarKanchan Roshan and Anita's Manchaha "Galeecho ka Minar" showcases their love and passion for weaving carpets. Anita has been practicing this craft for the last three years and her children Roshan and Kanchan have been watching her hard work and how she has prospered through her loom since the beginning. They decided to incorporate a loom on the rug itself as an ironic twist. This became the highlight of their rug and caught everybody's attention. Both of Anita's children have woven the tools used for weaving, such as "panja" and "churi," into the hand-knotted rug. As the children weaved on their loom, Anita continued to weave delicate patterns inspired by flowers, patterns inspired by the window in her home, and her handmade fan "Beejna." They poured their love for the craft into their manchaha, which they named "Galeecho ka Minar," meaning "Carpet Tower."
