The Design Story
raaste ki khojRaaste ki KhojRachna and Rekha are cousins who married into the same family. Over time, they became close in an inseparable way. They sit together, talk constantly, and almost always agree on what they want to weave. Their Manchaha comes from these shared conversations. In this rug, they wove many roads and paths. Some are straight, some bend, some cross each other. They call these ‘jaadui raaste’—magical roads. Roads that take you where you want to go. They plan their designs together so the rug feels like one hand, not two. They also think carefully about who will live with the rug one day, choosing patterns they feel people will connect with. When the weaving was complete, they named it “Raaste ki Khoj”—Search of the Path, indicating how every human is looking for the right path to follow in life.
