The Design Story
sab kuchSab KuchKavita and Gulab, a mother and daughter-in-law duo, wove this Manchaha together. They began by mixing yarns and colours, setting the base without a fixed plan. As they moved forward, they added what they remembered and had seen. One of the main motifs is a large pistol, inspired by what they saw at the fort of Pratapgarh during a visit they took together. In the middle, they placed two peacocks standing on decorative pillars. Around this, they built their everyday world. There are farms in the background, with fountains watering the fields. They also added small details from their surroundings — a cow, butterflies, and even the water pump from their front yard. The rug brings together memory, place, and daily life. It moves between what they have seen outside and what they live with every day. When they finished the rug, they named it ‘Sab Kuch’, meaning ‘Everything’ - everything they thought of while weaving, they have included in the carpet.
