The Design Story
hara bhara pahadHara Bhara PahadChandu learned the art of weaving to pass his time in jail. However, the more time he spent weaving, the more he fell in love with the process. He would eagerly sit on the loom and spend most of his day on it, weaving whatever his heart felt like. From his loom, Chandu could see beautiful ‘lush green mountains’, English for ‘Hara Bhara Pahad’, which ultimately became his design inspiration. While weaving, Chandu thought a lot about his family and home. He remembered a Kalash (auspicious pot) put in the temple at his home and tried to weave the same in the rug. He alsoweaved different huts all around the hand-knotted rug depicting his village. Even though this was Chandu’s first Manchaha, he was confident that whatever he would weave would be good because it would come straight from his heart.
